Machu Picchu Wallpaper: 4K Vintage Peru Frame TV Art
Ancient stone terraces climb a misty Andean ridge in this vintage-inspired 4K wallpaper of Machu Picchu, rendered in a warm mid-century travel-poster palette. A breathtaking mountain citadel for Frame TV art or desktop backgrounds.
Machu Picchu is a 15th-century Inca citadel perched on a mountain ridge in southern Peru's Eastern Cordillera, about 80 kilometers northwest of Cusco. Its remote setting above the Urubamba River's subtropical canyon has made it one of the most celebrated archaeological sites in the world.
Built around 1450 under emperor Pachacuti and abandoned roughly a century later during the Spanish conquest, the site was never found by the conquistadors and stayed largely unknown outside the local area for centuries. American historian Hiram Bingham brought it to international attention in 1911, and though he's often called its discoverer, local farming families were already living around the ruins when he arrived.
